Ontario Ministry of Transportation’s Driver's License system
Ontario Ministry of Transportation's Driver's License System
The Ontario Ministry of Transportation’s Driver License system had reached the end of its life as a secure solution and was no longer capable of meeting future security standards. They required a complete end-to-end solution that included photo-intake stations, data encryption and integration, manufacturing, printing and fulfillment of cards from a secure issuance facility.
Previously, the ministry had been using a PVC card and had intake equipment that was out-of-date and in need of a full refresh. They wanted to move to a much more secure card body that included a range of security features and options that could be configured by industry experts to meet or exceed current and future regulatory requirements. The desired solution needed to be scalable allowing citizens and permanent residents to apply at a large and growing number of stations throughout the province.
The Ontario Driver License and Health Card project involved full long-term account and project management and delivery, design and manufacturing and fulfillment for both card projects. This large-scale (largest volume in the country) North American project also included close partnerships to ensure delivery of all standards, including AAMVA requirements. With an annual volume of over 7 million cards, we are proud to continue providing the Ontario Ministry of Transportation with its card programs today.
